Job Summary:
The Supervisor Assistant supports the Production Supervisor in overseeing the daily operations of the bakery. The assistant will help ensure that baking processes run smoothly and efficiently, helping to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the Production Supervisor and bakery staff, ensuring clear and accurate communication.
- Assist in preparing and translating production reports, work instructions, and recipes.
- Help coordinate baking schedules, ingredient orders, and inventory management.
- Support the implementation of quality control processes and assist in addressing any production issues.
- Assist in training new staff and ensuring that all team members understand and follow baking procedures and safety guidelines.
- Help identify and resolve any operational issues that may arise in the bakery.
- Ensure that all baking activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Ensure that products are produced in accordance with Schwebel Baking Company quality specifications.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (and Spanish is preferred.)
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Prior experience in a bakery or similar food production environment is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees within a team oriented environment.
- Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a solid foundation in food processing manufacturing (preferably baking).
- Union plant experience preferred.
- Strong communication, human relations, and safety awareness skills are essential.
- Working knowledge of computers, including MS office applications.
