                  HR Intern- Solon, Ohio

The Schwebel Baking Company is looking for an HR intern to join our team. In this position, the intern will assist with human resources functions including general HR administrative support, file maintenance, employee on boarding, etc.

                  This is a learning opportunity to gain human resources compliance knowledge by reviewing current state and federal legislation as it relates to the field of Human Resources. The intern will be mentored and trained by experienced human resources professionals. There will be ample opportunities to participate in job shadowing for all aspects of human resources.

 

Job Duties:

  • Be trained on file retention and destruction regulations
  • Process communications with labor unions (i.e. job bids, grievances, etc.)
  • Process employment verifications
  • Assist in the maintenance of files (personnel, DOT, I-9, etc.)
  • Process new hire paperwork
  • Participate in the planning, organizing and scheduling of employee programs/events
  • Assist in updating HR systems
  • Assist in departmental compliance audits
  • Assist in documenting employee relations and labor relations issues
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Current Human Resources Management student preferably
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn and try new things

 

Rate of pay is $10/hour. Hours are negotiable.

 

Additional Requirements
